The work is devoted to the presentation of three acardiac foetuses analysed in 1995-1998 in the Institute of Polish Mother Health Centre in Łódz. Prenatal sonographic and echocardiographic diagnostics were described as well as the malformations observed after birth in 'donor' foetuses and the results of autopsy of 'recipient' foetuses. Our work also discusses possible prenatal diagnostics and the methods of treating the syndrome of Twin Reverse Arterial Perfusion, which is responsible for the development of 'acardiac foetus'.
