In spite of diagnostic techniques development diagnosing gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in children remains a difficult problem. The authors present possibilities of implementing following diagnostic techniques in children: pH monitoring, endoscopy, scintigraphy, manometry, and radiological imaging, concentrating on the limitations of these techniques in this field. They conclude, that, due to its complexity diagnostics should be individualized and carried out in pediatric gastroenterology centers.
