Aging of the skin is a serious and often underestimated problem amongst postmenopausal women. Menopause is a complex process that involves many organs. Hormonal replacement therapy, directed mainly at alleviating systemic symptoms that accompany the menopausal transition, may also have an influence on the skin. Presented here are brief characteristics concerning menopause, skin aging symptoms, collagen changes connected with aging and benefits of hormonal substitution.
