Candida strains enzymatic activity was examined using API ZYM (bioMerieux). Ninety-nine Candida albicans strains and forty-seven Candida species strains were used, isolated from women with chronic Candida vulvovaginitis previously tested with many antifungal agents. Cyclosporin A (Sandoz Pharma in substantia batch 099877) was used for testing. Enzymes from the culture were compared using the API ZYM test. In the cyclosporin A group the enzymatic activity of the following enzymes of Candida albicans and Candida species was significantly decreased: (alcaline phosphatase, esterase, esterase lipase, lipase, leucine arylamidase, valine arylamidase, cystine arylamidase, naphtol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase, alpha-glucosidase, n-aceptyl-beta-glucos-amidase, chymotrypsin, alpha-mann osidase, trypsin, alpha-fucosidase)
