In the hepatocyte-mediated regeneration process, several cells including biliary epithelial cells, Kupffer cells, hepatic stellate cells, liver sinusoidal endothelial cells, and extrahepatic cells interact. Additionally, the blood flow stress signal, immune factors, nerves, hormones, bile acid, and microbiota are also involved.
