Effect of the ligation of spleen neurovascular pedicle on the morphology ofhemolymph splenic nodes in Wistar rats.

Macro- and microscopic structure of hemolymph splenic nodes after ligatureof spleen neurovascular pedicle was evaluated in 12 Wistar rats. The results obtained were compared withthe nodes of the control group. It was found that spleen neurovascular pedicle ligation without removingthe organ from abdominal cavity results in the enlargement of examined nodes and a change in their colorintensity. Histological examination revealed considerable increase in erythroid elements filling mainlythe medullary part of the node. The spleen underwent total atrophy. Retrogressive changes, typical forsingle-organ nodes were not observed. Non-hemolymph mesenteric nodes did not show any macroscopic compensatorychanges.
